Wimob™ Suite Frequently Asked Questions for Publishers & Bloggers
The Wimob Suite allows you to make your website content adaptable to mobile phones for your web visitors. You will be able to add as many Wimob contents as you wish for your URL domain or for several URLs, organising them in a tree mode. You can also monitorthe statistics of your visitors downloads.
The Suite only allows one username per URL simultaneously in order to avoid conflicts, but you may cancel your URL from a user’s Wimob list and then add it in another user’s list. Please check if someone else in your organisation has registered your URL.
Once you have registered a URL, you have access to the Basic license. To upgrade to Medium, Professional or Advance, please visit the Wimob website where you may purchase the upgrade through PayPal. You may also have different licenses for each of your URLs.
The format of the base file should be in gif, jpg, png or bmp. The dimensions should be 343x79 pixels.
Wimob supports almost any type of mulitmedia content as well as 2D coupons and applications. Here is a list of all of the file types:
Image: .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .png
Audio: .mp3, .wav, .amr, .rm, .wma, .ogg
Video: .avi, .mpg, .mov, .3gp, .wmv, .flv
Flash Lite: .swf
Java Application: .jar
Symbian Application: .sis
Windows Mobile Application: .cab
PDF: .pdf
Text: .txt
V-Cal: .vcs
V-Card: .vcf
WAP Markup language files (WAP Link): .wml
The following transcoded file types are what the end user will receive on the mobile device:
Image: .gif
Video: .3gp, mpeg
Audio: .mp3, .amr, .wav
The format of the base file should be in gif, jpg, png or bmp. The dimensions should be 343x79 pixels.
You need to copy the script generated by the Suite on in the body of your website.
You need to publish the folder with the transcoded files generated by the Wimob Suite to your website, or you may also FTP directly using the Publish Wizard.
You may need to upgrade your Suite rights.
There is no limit.
Please check if the URL has been deleted from the username register or if the license has expired.
You just need Bluetooth or Infrared or USB on your mobile phone. Please check about your specific mobile phone at www.wimob.com/support.html.
For the major upgrades you will automatically receive a notification proposing the upgrade.
